NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING..

I have been i the Military for 12 years, i have tried Lowa Range, and found them too clumpy, to clumsy, and not very comfortable, having been an alt-berg man for many a year, I tried to buy another pair, I checked Hanwag on the website, and straight away, liked the professional site where you can watch the boots being made, I am due to go to the falklands, where the bleak winters will need a quality boot.. these are more than what alt-berg can ever offer, yes, they are pricey, but i can honestly say, say are super comfy, warm, ventilated, and very very strong, and they are surprisingly lightweight on your feet.. all round amazing boot, i'm now a hanwag man

Really wanted a pair of Matterhorn's or Danner's but I could not justify the two hundred pound plus price everyone was asking for them. I had Lowa's before and they were ok but not over impressed. I had heard good things about the Hanwag's so decided to try them out. Still early days but finding them really comfortable and they have good support around the ankle. I can't see how the other two brands can justify the money they charge. My advice is get the Hanwag and save yourself at least sixty quid and get the same comfort from them.

After years of wearing issue boots (magnums) and various other standard police boots throughout my 15 years of police service across the UK I was forced due to my force's cessation of boot issue to get my own. After much research and time I decided on the Hanwag special forces GTX boots and have to say I wish I had chosen them years ago. My job entails lots of standing around for hours on end, frequently in rain/ice/snow/wind and having suffered the cold feet syndrome for so long I was pleasantly amazed to find that even the longest of shifts (20hrs in both freezing cold and boiling heat) left my feet feeling warm, comfortable and dry. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for and these boots ooze quality and strength for the job in hand. They look the part, are super comfortable and are at home on foot patrol or driving a car. I love these boots so much that my old Caterpillar boots that I wear off duty are currently being replaced by a similar yet no doubt excellent hanwag "civvy" boot so I can enjoy their quality products off duty. Like my old Army Dad said - "Any fool can be uncomfortable" and I am glad I chose these awesome boots. Wearable straight out of the box, excellent grip in mud and slippery conditions and basically perfect!!!:)
